With this guide you can quickly and permanently resolve SVM fault 1555 or B201A in Control Unit 5F – Information Electronics.
Procedure
1) Read out
- Connect to Control Unit 5F.
- Open the adaptation channel “Confirmation of installation change” (German: Bestätigung der Verbauänderung / Bestätigung der Installationsänderung).
- Read the current value and make a note of it.

2) Generate
- Enter the old value in the input field above.
- Generate the corresponding new key for your system.
3) Save
- Enter the new value in the adaptation channel “Confirmation of installation change.”
- Save the change.
4) Clear faults
- Clear the fault memory entry 1555 / B201A in Control Unit 5F.

This procedure assumes you have a suitable diagnostic tool (e.g., VCDS, ODIS) and that access to the adaptation channel is unlocked.
